Betty Jean Ward


Like so many of the actors and actresses who have lent their voice to a Scooby Doo character, Betty Jean Ward is one talented artist. BJ Ward, as she is credited, provided the voice of Scooby Doo's Velma. Her tenure as Velma Dinkley was from 1988 through 1991 for several of the Scooby Doo movies. She is Velma in the following:

  • Scooby Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf
  • Scooby Doo on Zombie Island
  • Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost
  • Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase
  • Scooby Doo and the Alien Invaders

In several of these movies, she also provided the voices of additional characters, including Repulsa in the Reluctant Werewolf.

Outside of the Scooby world, Ward has provided the voice of many animated characters, including Betty Rubble and Wonder Woman. And the series in which she has appeared are numerous, including Ben 10, Aladdin, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Jetsons, Johnny Quest, Pound Puppies, and My Little Pony. See the entire list of credits.
