Nicole Jaffe

The original voice of Velma Dace Dinkley was Nicole Jaffe. Jaffe started providing the voice of Velma in 1969 and did so through 1974. This means that Jaffe was the voice during the original Scooby Doo Where are You series and the New Scooby Doo Movies that followed. Jaffe's stint as the voice of Velma did not stop in 1974. She later reprised that role in several of the Scooby Doo movies, including Scooby Doo and the Monster of Mexico and Scooby Doo and the Legend of the Vampire, which were 2003 video releases.

These two movies appear to have been an effort to return to original voices. In addition to Jaffe returning as Velma, Heather North also returned in the same two Scooby Doo movies to provide the voice of Daphne. Except for her tenure as Velma, Jaffe seems to have appeared in only a few other series or film. She is not, however, out of the entertainment industry. Currently, Jaffe is a talent agent at the William Morris Agency.
