Patricia Stevens, a/k/a Pat Stevens provided the voice of Velma Dace Dinkley in the early years. Stevens was not the original voice of Velma, but she was the voice of Velma starting in the mid 1970s through 1979 and then again in 1982. Steven's work on Scooby Doo was during the Scrappy Doo years. Specifically, she is credited for providing the voice of Velma Dinkley on:

- Scooby and Scrappy Doo (1979)
- Scooby Goes Hollywood (1979 Special)
- The Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo Puppy Hour (1982)
Outside the world of Scooby Doo, Stevens appeared in several television series, including Police Woman, ABC After School Specials, the Bob Newhart Show, and M*A*S*H. M*A*S*H was one of longer running and more defined roles. She was Nurse Baker in that series.
