A Clue for Scooby Doo is the second episode from the original Scooby Doo Where Are You? television series. Spoiler Alert - details of this Scooby Doo episode are below.
During a day at Rocky Point beach, Scooby is on a surfboard and runs into the ghost of Captain Cutler. Captain Cutler's ghost is in a glowing diving suit and the ghost appears from and disappears into the ocean. After some investigation, the gang discovers that yachts are disappearing and all leads point to the ghost Captain Cutler. So the gang begins by interviewing Captain Cutler's widow, who just happens to be a witch. According to the story, a yacht sank Captain Cutler's ship and sent him to his grave. The disappearing yachts are supposedly his revenge.
After some fun chases and an ill-conceived plan or two, the gang captures Captain Cutler (very much alive). Turns out, the good captain and his wife were stealing yachts and reselling them.

Scooby drinks dirty water that Mrs. Cutler was using to wash her laundry. Scooby thought it was soup.
Scooby gets only 1 snack for chasing a glowing obejct into a drain pipe. Turns out to be a mouse with luminous seaweed.
Who gets credit for umasking the villain is tricking in this episode. Fred takes the diving bell off to reveal the face, but no one recognizes him. Then Shaggy puts some seaweed on his face so that everyone recognizes him as Captain Cutler.
In Scooby Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed, Captain Cutler's ghost is brought to life and is one of the monsters unleashed on the city.
