What a Night for a Knight
What A Night for a Knight Man!is the very first episode of "Scooby Doo Where Are You?" It aired on Saturday, September 13, 1969. It, like all of the other episodes of seasons 1 and 2, is fantastic and a piece of pop culture history. Spoiler Alert - details of this Scooby Doo episode are below.
On the walk home from the movies, Shaggy and Scooby stumble across an abandoned truck with an empty suit of black armor at the wheel. Shaggy and Scooby get the rest of the gang, who investigate and find a crate in the truck addressed to the local museum. That's where the gang heads with the armor. At the museum, the gang finds out that Professor Hyde White, who was transporting the armor, is missing. While at the museum, the gang learns that the the suit of armor is cursed and becomes the Black Knight.
While searching for clues, gang discover that a hidden room behind a sarcophagus. In the room they find half painted master pieces of art and one very angry Black Knight. After a good chase, Scooby and Shaggy hide in an airplane in the museum. Scooby's tail accidently starts the plane and the two end up running over the Black Knight and capturing him.
- The Monster: The Black Knight
- The Villain: Mr. Wickles
- Why: Mr. Wickles stealing the valuable artwork in the museum with forgeries. He has to get rid of Professor Hyde White because he will spot the forgeries. Wickles creates the legend of Black Knight to cover up his kidnapping of Hyde White.
Connection to Other Episodes
In Scooby Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed, the Black Knight is brought back to life and is one of the monsters that is unleashed and terrorizes Coolsville.
This has a different opening credit than the other episodes. The gang is not running in this opening.
